Tabster is a startup born out of frustration by two enthusiastic entrepreneurs. They loved going to bars and hang out with friends but the payment at the end of the night always caused friction. Footing the bill is fine, but chasing your friends afterwards to pay you back is never fun. We set out to create a solution that would make paying the bar tab easy and fun.

When doing research under frequenters of pubs we found a couple of pain points:

1. Waiting to get the attention of the bartender to pay
2. Discussions on how to split the bill
3. Footing the bill and that guy that you need to remind that he still has to pay you back.

So, we set out to alleviate those pains. Starting with small prototypes (created with Keynote), learning from the behavior of users, to hosting our own bar and testing the technical pro- totype.

Tabster changed their name to Tapp and is now active in 64 bars in and around Amsterdam and still growing.
